Real-Time Library Occupancy at the University of Mannheim
This project provides a real-time library occupancy tracker for the University of Mannheim (UB Mannheim). It was built because no central, fast way existed to check how busy the libraries currently are.

Accurate forecasts
Beyond live occupancy, the tracker provides reliable forecasts for the coming hours and days based on historical data and statistical models – ideal for planning study sessions during exam periods.
Tech stack
Built with Next.js and TypeScript, available as a Progressive Web App (PWA) for direct installation on smartphones. A CI/CD pipeline handles automated deployments and a custom API serves the continuously collected data.
